Trevor was actually baptized at McKillop in 1971!  Coming full circle, he joined McKillop as our Minister in 2009.  Trevor grew up on a farm new Lethbridge and received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Lethbridge and in 1998, his Bachelor of Ministry from Adelaide College of Divinity in Australia.  His passions include spirituality, meditation/contemplation, ecology, gardening, and science.  He believes deeply that our lives are enriched by our growth on the spiritual journey as we are awakened to the sacred present moment.  McKillop hugely appreciates a minister who can bring together science and faith seamlessly.

Judy has worked in the United Church for over 20 years and has been at McKillop for 13 years, making her a fount of knowledge for all!  In addition to performing her many church duties, Judy loves to sing in both the Senior Choir and with the Catch the Spirit Music Team.

Maureen is a social worker who spent many years working in long term care.  She is dedicated to the care of seniors and to celebrating their lives.  Having joined McKillop in September 2013, she is working with our seniors and with our dedicated Pastoral Care volunteers.  Maureen has a BA in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Bachelors degree in Social Work.

ruth-staff-imgRuth Ganger-Powell - Youth Worker
Ruth "grew up" in the United Church in Edmonton and has worked everywhere from church camps to cultural institutions including museums and national/provincial historic sites. Her Bachelors degree in Recreation & Leisure plus a Masters Degree in Environmental Education provide her with an ideal skill set for working with youth and young adults.  Vital Link and Discussion & Dessert are two of the programs Ruth has developed since joining McKillop in 1998.

Marilyn started her church organist career at the age of 12 (right around when she joined CGIT!) and has been with McKillop since 1981.  She accompanies many community and school groups as well as teaches music and adjudicates at festivals across western Canada.  A master of both piano and organ, Marilyn is well-known in the Lethbridge music community and is a pillar of McKillop's music program.

Outside McKillop, Ken is a well-known and loved figure in the Lethbridge music scene.  He teaches high school band, conducts a community band, is active with band organizations across Alberta and Canada as well as many musical groups in the City.  Did we mention that he also sings and plays trombone?...and leads our Senior Choir with inspiration and great panache.Ken has a Bachelors degree in both Music and Education and a Graduate diploma in Fine Arts, specializing in instrumental conducting.

darrell-staffDarrell Croft - Catch the Spirit Music Leader
Darrell's first encounter with the United Church occurred when he graduated from a United Church Kindergarten in Revelstoke, BC.  During and after post-secondary studies, Darrell gained wide-ranging experience in performance from opera to pop, from Calgary Opera to the Taber Players, and everything between.  Now settled in Southern Alberta, Darrell teaches music and drama.  As leader of the CTS Music Team, Darrell's voice fills McKillop even without a microphone.  Darrell has a Bachelors degree and a Graduate Diploma in Fine arts, as well as a Masters Degree in music.

johnpaul-staffJohn Paul Ksiazek
In addition to his work at McKillop, John Paul teaches piano with the University of Lethbridge Conservatory or Music and performs regularly with other musicians and groups.  John Paul studied music at the University of Lethbridge, University of Alberta, and University of Montréal, and was an artist in residence at The Banff Centre.  John Paul's other interests include yoga, gardening, hiking, biking, and fly fishing.

nickstaffNick Urquhart - Media, Technology & Communication
Nick is currently a 5th year psychology student at the University of Lethbridge, specializing in Industrial (workplace) Psychology.  Originally from La Ronge Saskatchewan, Nick moved to Lethbridge in September 2012 to pursue secondary education.  Before moving to Lethbridge, Nick worked as a Media Technician & Camera Operator for Keewatin Career Development Corporation for 5 years and holds a certificate in Media Production from New Media Campus (2010), as well as his A+ Computer Technician Ceritification (2008).  In his off time, Nick is a musician and is heavily involved in various musical pursuits.

Tiff was born and raised in Lethbridge. In addition to her work at McKillop, she also works as the OUTreach Southern Alberta Community Education Program Coordinator, and has served on the OUTreach Board of Directors. Tiff completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology at the University of Lethbridge, and is passionate about using her background in social theory to develop programs that support the LGBTQ+ community.
